General Aviation has been the basis of Aviation History in any country since the birth of powered flight brought by the Wright Brothers. General Aviation consists of all flying activities other than mass air transportation provided by the airlines. It covers activities from skydiving, paramotor, paragliding, conventional flying in aeroplanes, helicopters, gyrocopters, blimps and hot air balloons. Basically, anything that takes to the skies are products of aviation. Now aviation has taken further steps since The Ansari X Prize was launched as space competition in which the X Prize Foundation offered a US$10,000,000 prize for the first non-government organization to launch a reusable manned spacecraft into space twice within two weeks and was aimed to spur development of low-cost spaceflight.
Created in May 1996 and initially called just the "X Prize", it was renamed the "Ansari X Prize" on May 6, 2004 following a multi-million dollar donation from the Ansari family. It was won on October 4, 2004, by the Tier One project designed by Burt Rutan and financed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen with their experimental spaceplane SpaceShipOne. $10 million was awarded to the winner, but more than $100 million was invested in pursuit of the prize.
Malaysia has her own share of fame after launching its space program in early 2000 and eventually sending her very own astronaut better known as the ANGKASAWAN. Malaysia has proven ….. MALAYSIA HAS WINGS !
